Happy 4th of July!

Feeling independent? Anyone?  Brandon said I should title this post "They may take our lives, but they'll never take our freedom!"  (Braveheart fans?)  I hope everyone has a great day today and does something American! (that is... American in a good way... not a scary way please...)

We are doing something VERY American today and going to the Albany ValleyCats minor league baseball game tonight!  Hotdogs, beer, crackerjacks, fireworks and baseball... come on, can you top that?!  We are looking forward to it and hoping the weather holds up.  We have already gone for a hike, and I picked almost all our peas from the garden and added some them to our egg salad for lunch.  So far, a good day!

So as I mentioned in my last post, I started work this week.  The first two days went really really well!  I can't imagine a nicer work environment.  Everyone is friendly, helpful, and seems happy with their jobs.   the work is interesting and engaging.  What else... I have my own office and it is near the kitchen (and coffee machine... that is a bonus!).  It is really nice meeting people my age in the area.  We went out to lunch the first day and I really like my coworkers and they do a lot of things together which is so nice and will be great for Brandon and I.

So yeah!  All is good in Voorheesville on this 4th of July!  I promise a longer post with pictures and food and all that good stuff on Saturday.  I have sourdough updates... I also think it may be time for some cookies... hmmmm.... my inner baker is screaming to get out.. but I promised myself today would be a day off of everything... except relaxing... so I am off to read my book (which by the way is great... it is called The Best and The Brightest, by David Halberstam, and is about the history of our involvement in Vietnam... I highly recommend it... )

Check in Saturday!
